Conhecimento de estudantes de enfermagem sobre atendimento do paciente politraumatizado no ambiente pré-hospitalar / Knowledge of nursing students about care for polytraumatized patients in the pre-hospital environment

O alto índice de morbimortalidade por traumas evidencia a necessidade global de medidas preventivas. O enfermeiro deve estar preparado para realizar intervenções básicas e intermediárias no Atendimento Pré-Hospitalar (APH), utilizando o conhecimento técnico-científico adquirido durante sua formação acadêmica. Objetivo: Avaliar o conhecimento dos estudantes de enfermagem de uma universidade do meio oeste de Santa Catarina para o atendimento de pacientes politraumatizados no ambiente pré-hospitalar. Métodos: A pesquisa ocorreu no mês de maio de 2023 através de uma simulação realística em atendimento pré-hospitalar a partir de um cenário fictício de paciente politraumatizado com uso de atores utilizando o Trauma Standard Checklist no pré e pós-teste. Resultados: Quando comparados os escores entre as três equipes são observadas diferenças entre as equipes no pré e pós-teste. Conclusão: Os achados deste estudo evidenciam que cenários de simulações realísticas bem-preparados podem impactar significativamente no aprendizado dos estudantes e assim melhor prepará-los para o mercado de trabalho.(AU)

The high rate of morbidity and mortality from trauma highlights the global need for preventive measures. Nurses must be prepared to perform basic and intermediate interventions in Pre-Hospital Care (APH), using the technical-scientific knowledge acquired during their academic training. Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of nursing students from a university in the midwest of Santa Catarina for the care of polytraumatized patients in the pre-hospital environment. Methods: The research took place in May 2023 through a realistic simulation in pre-hospital care from a fictitious scenario of a polytraumatized patient using actors using the Trauma Standard Checklist in the pre and post-test. Results: When comparing the scores between the three teams, differences are observed between the teams in the pre- and post-test. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that well-prepared realistic simulation scenarios can significantly impact students' learning and thus better prepare them for the labor market.(AU)

La elevada tasa de morbimortalidad por traumatismos pone de manifiesto la necesidad global de medidas preventivas. Los enfermeros deben estar preparados para realizar intervenciones básicas e intermedias en la Atención Prehospitalaria (APH), utilizando los conocimientos técnico-científicos adquiridos durante su formación académica. Objetivo: Evaluar los conocimientos de los estudiantes de enfermería de una universidad del centro-oeste de Santa Catarina para el cuidado de pacientes politraumatizados en el ambiente prehospitalario. Método: La investigación se realizó en mayo de 2023 a través de una simulación realista en la atención prehospitalaria a partir de un escenario ficticio de un paciente politraumatizado utilizando actores que utilizaron el Trauma Standard Checklist en el pre y post test. Resultados: Al comparar las puntuaciones entre los tres equipos, se observaron diferencias entre los equipos en el pre y post-test. Conclusión: Los resultados de este estudio muestran que los escenarios de simulación realista bien preparados pueden tener un impacto significativo en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes y, por lo tanto, prepararlos mejor para el mercado laboral.(AU)

Population structure and growth of two opulations of Aegla Schmitti Hobbs III, 1979 (Anomura, Aeglidae) in the eastern Paraná state, Brazil.

The population structure and growth of two populations (Arraial and Capivari rivers) of Aegla schmitti was evaluated. The following parameters were determined: size, age structure, sex ratio, recruitment period, and sampling method selectivity (traps and handnet). There was variation between males and females. The carapace length size class distribution was unimodal in the Arraial River, and polymodal in the Capivari River. The sampling method influenced the proportion of demographic categories. The recruitment occurred mostly between October and December. The growth curves for the Arraial and Capivari rivers, respectively, were Ct= 26,50[1- e -0,004(t+53,36)] and Ct= 34,79[1- e -0,0024(t+122,34)] for males, and Ct= 23,07[1- e -0.0027(t+23,18)] and Ct= 25.52[1- e -0,0033(t+19,51)] for females. The maximum CL estimated for males and females were 26.50 and 23.07mm for the Arraial River, and 34.79 and 25.52mm for the Capivari River. Longevity was estimated in 2 years for females of both populations, and 2.5 and 3 years for males of the Arraial and Capivari rivers, respectively. The results allow for the characterization of the growth patterns of A. schmitti in two hydrographic basins, providing information for the species' preservation and also demonstrating the selectivity of the different sampling methods used for aeglids.

Efeito de um programa multicomponente sobre a aptidão física relacionada à saúde em escolares / Effect of a multicomponent program on health-related physical fitness in schoolchildren

Este estudo avaliou o efeito de um programa multicomponente sobre a aptidão física relacionada à saúde em escolares. A amostra foi composta por 120 alunos do ensino infantil e fundamental divididos aleatoriamente em dois grupos: grupo intervenção que realizou um programa multicomponente de atividades físico-desportivas e educação nutricional (GI; n=60) e grupo controle que não participou do programa (GC; n=60). Foram avaliados o estado nutricional, VO2máx., força/resistência muscular e flexibilidade no início e no final de 12 semanas. Os resultados mostraram que o grupo GI modificou o estado nutricional e aumentou o VO2máx., a força/resistência muscular e a flexibilidade (p<0,0001). No GC o VO2máx., não se alterou, a força/resistência muscular diminuiu (p<0,0001). A flexibilidade no GC foi menor, quando comparada ao GI (p<0,0001). Em conclusão, o programa multicomponente melhorou a aptidão física relacionada à saúde dos escolares da educação básica.

This study evaluated the effect of a multicomponent program on health-related physical fitness in schoolchildren. The sample composed of 120 students of early childhood and elementary education randomized divided into two groups, intervention group that underwent a multicomponent program of physical and sports activities, along with nutritional education (IG; n = 60) and control group that did not participated in the program (CG; n = 60). Nutritional state, VO2max., muscular strength/endurance and flexibility were evaluated in the beginning and in the final of 12 weeks of intervention. The results showed that the IG group modified the nutritional state and increased the VO2max,, the muscular strength/endurance and the flexibility (p<0.0001). In the CG group, the VO2max did not modified and decreased the muscular strength/endurance (p<0.0001). Flexibility in the CG group was lower than IG group (p<0.0001). In conclusion, the multicomponent program improved the health-related physical fitness of basic education schoolchildren.

Asynchronous Hatching and Extended Parental Care in Aegla schmitti (Decapoda, Anomura)

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to describe the behavior of newly-hatched juveniles and maternal care in Aegla schmitti. The experiment was conducted using seven ovigerous females with eggs at different stages of embryonic development and 12 eggs that had been placed in a separate aquarium. We observed asynchronous hatching in all females, with a mean of 66 hatched juveniles per female. The females also exhibited extended maternal care, allowing the juveniles to remain inside their abdominal chamber or on other parts of their body in the first few days after hatching. The juveniles that hatched in a separate aquarium fed on the remaining eggs, despite food being available. The incubation period and number of hatched eggs are highly variable between species with direct development, with no clear pattern being evident. However, asynchrony in hatching time is apparently common among freshwater anomurans, most likely due to the environmental conditions in which they live. Parental care is an important trait for crustaceans that live in osmotically unfavorable environments, such as freshwater, increasing the survival rate of juveniles.

Opportunistic predation of fish by anomuran crabs (Crustacea, Anomura, Aeglidae) in rivers of southern Brazil / Predação oportunista de peixes por eglídeos (Crustacea, Anomura, Aeglidae) em rios do Sul do Brasil

The opportunistic predation on the fishes Astyanax fasciatus and Crenicichla sp. entangled in gill net by the aeglid crabs Aegla grisella and Aegla singularis was observed in rivers of southern Brazil. These events occurred in two rivers located at the National Forest of Passo Fundo, in Mato Castelhano municipality, Rio Grande do Sul State and Tangará municipality, Santa Catarina State. In both places the fish showed similar wound pattern, with eyes and fins being consumed first. However, predation of the whole body was also recorded, probably due to the high number of aeglid crabs feeding on the same individual. This record intended to contribute for understanding the natural diet of these crabs in freshwater environments.

A predação oportunista dos peixes Astyanax fasciatus e Crenicichla sp. emalhados em rede de espera pelos eglídeos Aegla grisella e Aegla singularis foi observada em rios do Sul do Brasil. Estes eventos ocorreram em dois rios na Floresta Nacional de Passo Fundo, município de Mato Castelhano, RS e no município de Tanguará, SC. Em ambos os locais os peixes apresentavam um padrão de mutilação semelhante, com olhos e nadadeiras sendo consumidos primeiramente. No entanto, a predação de todo o corpo também foi registrada, provavelmente em decorrência do elevado número de eglídeos se alimentando de um mesmo indivíduo. Esse registro visa contribuir para o entendimento da dieta natural dos eglídeos em ambientes de águas continentais.
